Spectators, heavy parkas, cameras, frozen hands, searching for an auroral show.

Look Northward viewers!

The concert of sky music begins: a quiet, still grey arc stretches across the horizon.

This powerful image commands the audience to give themselves over to the master.

We are in the presence of a virtuoso.

A brightening forms: green glow warms the sky.

Arc coils and swiftly moves along nighttime sky.

A moment of quiet pause: perhaps there is no more.

Three green streamers appear to float lazily in the breeze like crepe paper floating from a maypole.

Activity in the sky symphony suddenly becomes charged with movement played Adagio, with great power.

Green-fringed curtains tipped with red move rapidly across the horizon forming directly overhead.

Breathtaking, heart-stopping moments: enveloped in a celestial dome of lights,

Enticing us to touch the crown before disappearing to the background orchestra of stars and arc.

— Susan Miller, Sherman Oaks, Calif
