FAIRBANKS — Six players scored goals and two had hat tricks as the Monroe Catholic Rams rolled to a 10-1 Greatland Conference high school hockey victory against the Tri-Valley Warriors on Friday afternoon at the Big Dipper.
Joseph Rauenhorst and Jacob Hebard each scored three goals to lead the way for the Rams. Rauenhorst added two assists, and Hebard notched four.
The Rams scored three goals in the first period, three more in the second and put the game away with four more in the third period. Tri-Valley’s lone goal came in the third period.
“It was a good way to head into the Christmas break,” Monroe Catholic coach Kirk Haman said. “The kids played well. Any time you have six different players score goals, you know you’re playing a good game.”
Other Monroe scoring was by Williams Brice with a goal and three assists; Kyle Coiley with a goal and two assists; Dylan Steele with a goal and an assist; Hunter Haman with a goal; and Grant Olson had an assist.
