To the editor:
I’m voting for Norm Phillips for borough mayor. Our current mayor has wasted taxpayers’ money with study after study.
His newest plan is to start a gas distribution utility run by the borough. He is asking the city of Fairbanks to transfer their rights to the borough for the gas utility. Their plan is to request funding from the state. I live in the city of Fairbanks. As I see it, my rate for gas would go up to subsidize the outlying areas of the borough.
The local gas utility already has a plan for gas for the borough. It will be rate regulated if funding from the state is involved.
Our first step is to get a conditioning facility that will service all of Alaska.
No more studies, port authority or government-run utilities!
Vote Norm Phillips Oct. 2.
