"In May, GVEA members were mailed bylaw election ballots..."

Guess this is the same ballot I never got that approved massive raising of GVEA debt limit?

I suggest mail-in elections not be kosher unless some percentage -- say 75% -- of members respond. (Or, that GVEA can prove 75% of members actually obtained the ballots!)

15% of over 100,000 members returned their ballots, and of those, 70% favored the program... Let's see, that's approximately 7500 out of over 100,000 people? And this initiative is moving forward? I'm opting out..., along with the above 70% of others that have posted here.

GVEA's business is to keep energy costs under control, not round up my bill to the next dollar in order to provide dollars for a charity of their choosing... GVEA, please stick to your knitting, I already donate to charities of my own choosing!

Q: Halibut derbies in both Homer and Valdez should be permanently stopped. /Q

Yeah right, you don't see the commercial guys on a 1 or 2 fish daily limit either.

FWIW, my charter for my 50th birthday doesn't target barn door halibut, which is fine by me.

Kudos to Levasseur for integrity as a sporting fisherman.

You wonder why some who come to Alaska never leave. Just get on top of a dome this time of year and look around.
