The Dec. 7 edition of “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” is to feature a sampling of Fairbanks and North Pole restaurants, such as Big Daddy’s, the Cookie Jar and the Pagoda.
Guy Fieri’s Christmas show for the Food Network was taped here in early October.
Gloria Burcell of the Cookie Jar says it was “quite an experience” to have the TV crew in the restaurant and it was great.
“He is really good at what he does and he knows food,” she said of Fieri.
The TV Grapevine Web site describes the show this way:
Guy Fieri takes the Camaro to the great, white North for a holiday party like none other – in the town of North Pole, Alaska, where they are decorated for Christmas 365 days a year. Guy hits some local joints that make way more than just a Christmas goose – like the smoked caribou they make at Big Daddy’s BBQ, or Mongolian Beef at Chinese restaurant staple Pagoda. And when the frost appears outside, Guy craves a homemade ice cream at Hot Licks.

I hope they mention reindeer sausage at the Bakery! I love that place. And I wonder if they went to Home Town.

Geez folks, the article says " . . . such as Big Daddy’s, the Cookie Jar and the Pagoda." That would indicate to the reader that there are other restaurants as well!

I thought they went to Elf's Den, too. That one isn't mentioned either. Eh, well...maybe I heard wrong.

How come Silver Gulch wasn't mentioned in this article?
