Letter to the Editor

Support Dodge

To the editor: As mayor, Jim Matherly refused to acknowledge that civil rights are a settled matter in this country. He tried to turn Fairbanks backward in history, and he fomented needless division in our community with his veto of the council’s decision to prohibit discrimination. Due to his actions, many individuals who are commonly persecuted and victimized for the way they were born were exposed and traumatized.

Fairbanks can live up to its nickname as the Golden Heart City, work together, and welcome diversity and the strength it brings — by voting him out.

Kathryn Dodge will be a mayor for all. Please vote on Oct. 1. We live outside the city limits, but Fairbanks is our home and we are counting on city residents to be our Golden Heart.
