Letter to the Editor

Reelect Jim Matherly

To the editor: I am writing today to encourage this community to reelect Mayor Jim Matherly. I have known Jim for many years, and he is a remarkable man. Being born and raised here, he knows Fairbanks inside out. He has the experience we need. He has served multiple times on the Fairbanks City Council and has faithfully served this town for the past three years as mayor.

As a small business owner, I appreciate his commitment to use our tax money as wisely as possible. He has led cost-cutting efforts at City Hall, better managing office supplies and phone expenses, resulting in substantial savings overall. He has been helpful in expanding the number of downtown events and helping promote those community boosts to the city. He is a positive and proactive mayor.

Fairbanks, let’s give him another term so he can continue to accomplish the work he has started.
