Letter to the editor

To the editor: The House/Senate budget was a good compromise. I don’t find one veto that improves it.

I ask all legislators to unanimously override Governor Dunleavy’s vetoes, which would cause devastation to our way of life at all levels in this state.

Humans must stop using fossil fuels or the planet will be destroyed by climate change and the destructive weather-caused events that we are seeing here and in the rest of the world. If we don’t replace fossil fuel with renewable energy and all the new, well-paying jobs that go with it, we will see the state revenue continue to decrease. We will also watch the planet die. Picture that!

There is no reason not to tighten our belts gradually, but let’s do it 1 centimeter at a time.
