Letter to the Editor

Kissing the ring

To the editor: This newspaper reported Rep. Don Young and junior Sen. Dan Sullivan are already staunchly against impeaching this peccant president, prematurely spouting opinions without fully informed intellectual reasoning.

Fortunately, senior Sen. Lisa Murkowski is a more mature adult. She processes all information before arriving at a fully informed, knowledgeable decision. A true stateswoman.

Unfortunately, the two Alaska men in Congress are afflicted with “herd mentality.” Similar to mad cow disease. Fatal in the sense a person’s brain is compromised, turned to mush because their leaders tell them how to think and are given “bullet points” for press releases. Shameful criminaloid enablers!

Whenver facts are not on Republicans’ side, they resort to conspiracy theories, deflections, the “them against us” ploy and their favorite: obstruction of justice. Party loyalty trumps their oath of office, obviously.

President Pinocchio talks of a fireside chat and reading the “Infamous Transcript.” Why bother? It would just be a summary. Why are omitted, missing segments of the “perfect” (only innocent banter) transcript stored in the highest security vault? One meant for national security material only. Now also holding Twitter Troll’s woldwide misbegotten messages and misdeeds.

Men who despise or are jealous of successful women and are Pelosi haters are diehard patricachal Republicans. Congress has 106 Democrat women and 21 Republican women. Of the 36 newly elected women to Congress, only one was a Republican. Seems their generations-old motto “keep ‘em subserviant, barefoot and pregnant” remains. Proof is in the above numbers.

The boys do not like being reminded their brash, trash-talking manly emperor is pround he has no clothes on. A true narcissist. He who behaves like an autocrat by being grossly dishonest with no concept of honor. He who attacks our democracy’s institutions. He demands loyalty from his congressional subjects.

All but a few courageous Republicans fear being bulled by the Twitter Troll. Too few have the integrity to take their oath of office, their responsibilities seriously enough to be credible.

One wonders: Do Rep. Young and junior Sen. Sullivan bow their heads while kneeling and kissing the wannabe autocrat’s ring?
