To the editor:

Regarding Dermot Cole’s July 18 column item on turning down the noise at the Golden Days parade: It’s a celebration. It’s a parade. It’s supposed to be exciting and a little noisy. The kids love it, the adults love it ’cause the kids love it and, unfortunately, a select few need ear plugs.

Or they could or should move back to the farm, where it’s quiet. When you go, be sure to use the outhouse so you don’t have to hear the water run and can truly enjoy all the nature you can.
