Imagine if ...

Letter to the editor

To the editor: Just imagine if in 2011 Obama had admitted to asking a foreign government to investigate a potential political opponent. What do you think would have been the reaction of Republican voters, let alone Republican politicians and right-wing media?

Would they go... “Oh that’s fine, just another perk of being president, I guess”? Nope, not even close. They would rightfully have been calling for immediate impeachment.

So why do they choose to look hypocritical? Do they actually believe that it is fine or even legal for Trump to ask other countries to investigate political opponents or (hint, hint) create political scandals for them? Do they actually think that the majority of future voters will reward them for their defense of Trump?

Will you reward them for their defense of Trump? Or will you prefer to vote for people who honor their oath to the Constitution?
