Highway speedsters

To the editor: Glad to hear young Matherly is OK after his rollover that could have easily been much worse. However, as quoted by the mayor, he “encourages his kids to abide by the law.” Maybe he should encourage them to slow down, because the speed limit on the Richardson Highway in that area is only 65 mph. Hugh stated in the article he was doing 70 mph.

Also, maybe a few more trooper patrols in the area would help curb the speeders in the Moose Creek area. Most evenings we hear the street bikes and high horsepower cars racing on that stretch to and from Eielson. Just a matter of time until someone isn’t as lucky as Hugh.
