DEC manager has integrity

To the editor: At this point in time I support Sally Schlichting, state Department of Environmental Conservation manager for contaminated sites and a policy analyst, for two reasons (See Dermot Cole column, News-Miner, May 19).

First, she retains her ethical integrity under both the DEC mission statement to conserve, improve and protect Alaska’s natural resources and the environment in order to enhance the health, safety, economic and social well-being of all Alaskans.

Secondly, through her oath of office, she is serving the people of Alaska as promised in her oath of office to protect the laws of Alaska retained in our Constitution Article VII.

Great job! Sally, you are a true heroine.
