To the editor: I am writing a resolution to the city of Fort Yukon at our next regular meeting. I believe all Alaskans will join in this idea to ring in the new decade.
History shows since statehood that all the elected presidents were practically being sworn in even before our polls were closed. Presently the country is divided. Let us take this opportunity to unite as Alaskans and demand our 2020 vote happens a day before the rest of the Lower 48. Our friends in Hawaii should also be included. The six electoral votes would be the foundation that would show the country our voters matter.
Join in and let’s make this happen.
