Advice to graduates

To the editor: If I were to make a graduation speech during this season of 30-minute speeches this is what I would say in 1 minute 2 seconds:

“Ladies and gentlemen, today, you have exited the 12-year educational cocoon. You have an infinite number of choices for your direction of life. Look 360 degrees at the horizon-to-horizon of life which is available to you, and look 360 degrees overhead to the other direction to see the life which is also available to you. The direction which has served me well for 60 years is the direction to be a participant in life as well as an observer. I have observed a wonderful universe of choices and the mistakes of others. Always remember education is a never-ending process. Enjoy the wonders of participating in the real world of life while observing life around you.”
