To the editor:

On Oct. 15, you published an article “post-flood rehabilitation has Eagle ready for winter.” On Oct. 22, Meg Helmer of Eagle, in a letter to the editor, added helpful information to the story by naming groups that provided volunteer labor for the rebuilding.

As part three of the story, I want to highlight how volunteers from University Community Presbyterian Church provided a staging area and logistical support. This included office space, overnight housing, breakfast and some other meals, showers, incoming airport transport, outgoing and returning Eagle charters and home sendoff for 17 teams of 13 to 15 people each.

Eielson Air Force Base provided some cots, mats were purchased at cost at Beaver Sports and River’s Edge Resort provided a van and driver as backup support for church volunteer drivers. Kudos to each for picking up many helpful tasks.
