To the editor:

I’m the father of Pfc. Cody Eggleston. He is one of the Fallen Wolves that were honored Oct. 7, 2008. I, my wife, Vicky, and my daughter, Amber McKenzie, just had to write and thank your newspaper and the TV stations in Alaska for the outstanding job on covering the ceremony and showing how much pride and respect that the people in Fairbanks and Alaska have for the people that serve and protect the USA.

But most of all I would like thank all who served with our son and were his friends for being part of his short life. I thank all his unit members, who I met at Fort Wainwright at the memorial dedication ceremony and the redeployment ceremony, for what they did for the “Fallen Wolves.” The memorial that they all made possible will make sure that they never will be forgotten. I hope that everyone finds the Arctic Wolves Web sight to view it.

A very special thanks to Staff Sgt. David Hickman, Sgt. Doc Vega and to Andrew, Vern and Biso. God bless all for being there when my son needed his friends the most. It was an honor to meet all of his family that served with him, and they all are part of our family. God bless everyone. They will never be forgotten.
