To the editor:

I am concerned about the seriousness of drunken driving. Drunken driving causes many consequences, none of them good.

The accidents that come from drunken driving cause not only physical pain but also emotional pain. The family involved has to deal with medical bills and recovery time.

We need to fix these issues, and, to do so, our legal system should be stricter on people who drink and drive. Without a harsher punishment, it’s not going to stop any time soon.

People need to get someone to drive for them if they are under the influence. Be smart about what you are doing.

If we don’t decide to change the actions we’re doing now, accidents that hurt families and friends will keep happening. If we don’t like what’s happening, people need to change.
