Michael John Armstrong

1955 - 2008

North Pole resident Michael John Armstrong, 52, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2008.
Mike was born July 14, 1955, in Topeka, Kan. He had lived and worked in Alaska off and on for the last 20 years.
He was in construction his whole life, and he played music since he was 10 years old. He loved the outdoors and four-wheeling, snow machining, hunting and fishing.
His family said, “Mike was a beloved husband, father, brother and uncle. We will all miss him and love him always.”
He was preceded in death by his father, Norman Armstrong; brother, Norman Jay Armstrong; and his sister, Linda Sue Sturgeon.
Mike is survived by his wife, Ronda Armstrong; children, Jamie Buchtel, Mikie Armstrong, Steve Armstrong and Gary Armstrong; stepchildren, Taylor, Tasha, Cody and Cory; six grandchildren; mother, Pippa Armstrong; and siblings, Dan Armstrong, James Armstrong, Sharon Davis, Joan Chapman, Arthur Armstrong, Robert Armstrong, Bill Armstrong, David Armstrong and Joyce Burk.
A celebration of his life and a potluck will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, May 12, at the North Pole Grange Hall.
Arrangements were by Fairbanks Funeral Home and Crematory.
