Barbara Emory Cardaro
Former Moose Creek resident Barbara Emory Cardaro, 66, of Citrus Springs, Fla., died May 6, 2008.
Barbara was born in Tryon, N.C., the youngest daughter of William J. and Lura Pace Emory. She graduated from Tryon High School in 1959. Barbara and her husband, Peter Cardaro, resided in Moose Creek for 18 years. She was a life member of the Moose Creek Lions Club.
Barbara moved to Citrus Springs to be near her daughter after the death of her husband.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rita R. McCall-Outler and Cory Outler; grandchildren, Laura Elrod, James C. Powell and wife Carla; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Levi and Elizabeth Plumley, both of Columbus, N.C.; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Joyce Emory of Greenwood, S.C., and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter P. Cardaro; brothers, William J. Emory Jr., and Roy Emory; and sister, Wavelene Ballew.
A memorial service will be at graveside at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 17, with the Rev. Buddy Metcalf officiating.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., on Saturday, May 17, at McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon.
The family may be reached home of her niece, Norma Hunt of Lynn, N.C.
