To the editor:
I want to add my name to the growing list of people who think a $2 billion per year tax giveaway is a bad idea.
The oil industry is doing just fine in Alaska, with a brighter future ahead as production techniques improve.
We can fix our energy issues in other ways than giving up our petro dollars because of Gov. Parnell’s lobbying efforts. His actions reflect an interest in the oil industry, not Alaskans.
We need representatives in Juneau who have in the past blocked this effort, who are interested in the needs of our citizens and who will work to create a healthy economic future based on workable good ideas, not bad ones like the tax giveaway. I support Bob Miller, Joe Paskvan, Joe Thomas and David Guttenberg.
