The Public Safety Report is compiled from criminal complaints filed in state and federal courts, as well as some police blotter information, trooper dispatches, fire department reports and interviews with public safety officials. Individuals named as arrested and/or charged with crimes in this report are presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
• Jean Carlos Bustamante-Ciriaco, 26, of Fairbanks, was charged with fourth-degree assault and violating conditions of release Sept. 10 for allegedly punching his girlfriend on the leg. The woman said Bustamante-Ciriaco was irritated because she wouldn’t answer his question, according to charging documents.
• William David Reames, 41, of Fairbanks, was charged with fourth-degree assault Sept. 11 for an Aug. 10 incident. According to charging documents, Reames threw his girlfriend to the ground and put his forearm on her neck for approximately one minute.
Shelbye Brunquist, 48, of North Pole, was charged with fourth-degree theft Sept. 10 for allegedly taking a woman’s 17-year-old husky and refusing to return it. The dog was turned in to the animal shelter by the people Brunquist left the dog with, according to charging documents.
