The Public Safety Report is compiled from criminal complaints filed in state and federal courts, as well as some police blotter information, trooper dispatches, fire department reports and interviews with public safety officials. Individuals named as arrested and/or charged with crimes in this report are presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.
• Jess L. Eakin, 24, of North Pole, was charged with fourth-degree assault when she reportedly punched and kicked a friend’s ex-boyfriend on Sunday night.
• Michael Henry Fifer, 33, was charged with two counts of third-degree assault for allegedly slamming his older brother to the floor and strangling him two times in different parts of the house. He reportedly let go of the victim once he realized what he was doing.
A single vehicle rolled over at 39 Mile Steese Highway Thursday night, causing injuries but no deaths. Brittner Alan Brooks, 18, of Fairbanks, was driving the car with three passengers. Alaska State Troopers reported the vehicle appearead to be driving fast, headed south, when it drifted off the right shoulder, rolled over in the ditch and came to a stop off the road. All passengers were transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.
