An 18-year-old woman was rescued after she jumped into the Chena River  Saturday night, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers were alerted at about 10:20 p.m. that a woman was standing on the ledge of the University Avenue bridge, according to a news release. When they responded, they contacted an 18-year-old woman "in crisis," who jumped into the Chena River. She was rescued downstream and transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital after residents personnel from several agencies responded. 

Troopers would like to thank Fairbanks residents, Fairbanks Police Department, University Police Department, Airport Police Department, Village Public Safety Officers, and University Fire Department with providing resources to help rescue the woman.
