FAIRBANKS - A power outage affected a widespread area in the Chena Hot Springs and Badger Road area on Saturday evening.

A transmission line went down, according to a Golden Valley Electrical Association recording, knocking power out from Steele Creek east and south along Badger Road in North Pole for about an hour. No further details were available Saturday night.

Power was restored at about 7:15 p.m.
