Sen. Dan Sullivan will join U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Andrew Wheeler in Fairbanks for a community listening session and public meeting on PM 2.5.

The community listening session begins at 10 a.m. Monday, in which Sullivan and Wheeler will hear testimony from key stakeholders. Public testimony will begin at approximately 11 a.m. Immediately following the listening session, Sullivan and Wheeler will hold a brief media availability. The meetings and sessions will take place in the Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly chambers, 907 Terminal St.

Currently, the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation is developing the state of Alaska’s Serious Implementation Plan to meet national air quality standards, which the EPA will have to review and approve.
