FAIRBANKS — The Alaska Redistricting Board will meet Friday for a closed executive session to discuss issues surrounding the ongoing lawsuit brought against the board about its rewrite of state election district boundaries.

The board has been sued by Fairbanks-area residents George Riley and Ron Dearborn and the Alaska Democratic Party. The Fairbanks North Star Borough has supported Riley and Dearborn.

The involved parties filed their final arguments in September and the Superior Court Judge Michael McConahy sought to resolve the issues without a trial by the end of the year. The court has reserved courtroom time in case a trial is needed. Those times include Nov. 7 through Nov. 15 and the second and third week of December.
