An unexploded bomb was found at a North Pole home Thursday, according to a news release posted on the Alaska State Trooper website Friday afternoon.
Troopers responded to a Warner Road home at 8:32 p.m. after getting a report of an unexploded military round. The round was determined to be an "aerial bomb," according to the news release.
Troopers contacted Fort Wainwright for assistance.
Soldiers from the 65th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company responded and took the bomb to a military range, where it was detonated without incident, according to the release.
North Star Volunteer Fire Department provided assistance during the operation.
