FAIRBANKS — The Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce has selected Marisa Sharrah as president and CEO, according to a chamber release. She will start in the position on July 5.
“I’m honored to have been chosen as the next leader of the Fairbanks Chamber,” Sharrah said in the release. “As a lifelong resident of the Fairbanks area, there is nothing more important to me than seeing our community succeed. The work of the Chamber, its board, committees and members is a crucial component of ensuring that success.”
Since 2007, Sharrah has managed media campaigns, media relations and philanthropy programs as the community relations manager of Flint Hills Resources Alaska. She is also involved in more than 100 community organizations and activities including the Fairbanks Woman’s Hockey Association and Professionals Who Care.
“Marisa is going to crush it — she has unwavering integrity and oozes enthusiasm. Her leadership, energy and ability to work well with others will benefit the board and its many members,” said the chamber’s board chair Bill Bailey.
Former chamber president and CEO Lisa Herbert resigned from her position in May to take a position with the Usibilli Coal Mine.
