FAIRBANKS—A 25-year-old Fairbanks man reportedly shot at least one of two people who had entered his Lakeview Terrace trailer home uninvited and assaulted him late Friday night, according to Alaska State Troopers.
The man called troopers at 12:10 a.m. Saturday to report that he had shot at two intruders, who were later described by troopers as two men with whom the occupant was reportedly acquainted.
A 32-year-old man arrived at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital a short while later “with multiple gunshot wounds,” according to a trooper news release.
It was not immediately clear if a second person had been shot, however.
“We are still trying to verify if the report is accurate,” trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters said by email Saturday morning.
Peters also indicated that troopers are investigating the occupant’s report that the intruders were assaulting him in the trailer.
"That is what is reported,” she said. “We are investigating. Investigators are not ready to release further details."
Peters said that the occupant was awake at the time of the intrusion and was reportedly the only person at home when the incident occurred.
