Gov. Parnell reappoints Fairbanks residents to board aviation board

FAIRBANKS — Gov. Sean Parnell reappointed Fairbanks residents Jim Dodson and Tom George to the Alaska Aviation Advisory Board on Monday

Both men have extensive experience in the aviation industry and serve on the board, which advises the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities on aviation issues.

Dodson, who is the president and chief executive of the Fairbanks Economic Development Corp., was a pilot and president of Frontier Flying Service. He is reappointed to a seat representing the mayors of the City of Fairbanks and the Fairbanks North Star Borough.

George is the owner of an aerial photography business and is the Alaska regional manager of the Airplane Owners and Pilots Association. His experience includes time as a director of the Alaska Aviation Safety Foundation and president of the Northern Alaska Aviation Symposium. He formerly served as the chairman of the Alaska Aviation Coordination Council. He is reappointed to a seat representing general aviation pilots.
