NORTH POLE — The semifinals and finals of North Pole Middle School’s McHenryball tournament will be played in the school’s gymnasium Friday.

Four teams remain in the hunt to be crowned champions of the school’s second annual McHenryball tournament. The remaining teams are Don’t Stop Ballieving, Pouncing Pandas, Can’t Dodge This, and You Only Dodge Once (YODO).

Each team is playing for a charity of its choice. The team that wins the tournament will receive the majority of the tournament pot to donate to its charity, while the runner-up will likely receive a smaller portion to donate to its charity.

Each team chose to represent a local charity or the local chapter of a larger organization, including the Boys and Girls Club of Fairbanks, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Red Cross and Fairbanks Diabetes Center.

Proceeds from the concessions, silent auction and raffle will go to a charity chosen by the parents of Robyn Blemke, a North Pole Middle School student who passed away during the summer break.
