FAIRBANKS - A fire burned an add-on frame of a Fairbanks dental clinic Saturday morning, destroying the add-on and damaging the main building.

Fairbanks Fire Department firefighters responded to the Four Corners Dental Group clinic near Safeway on Airport Way at about 3:45 a.m., according to a news release from the Fairbanks Fire Department.

Firefighters found a fire burning in the wooden add-on frame that was still under construction. Firefighters attacked the fire to minimize damage to the main building. The fire didn't spread far into the main building, but it received significant smoke and water damage.

One firefighter received minor injuries from a fall into the crawlspace. The firefighter was evaluated and cleared on scene.

Firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire. Firefighters ask anyone with information to call the fire prevention office at 450-6614 or 450-6615.

The Fort Wainwright, University and Steese fire departments assisted in putting out the fire.
