Multiple agencies, including a team of firefighters assigned to a nearby wildfire, helped rescue a Fairbanks man who suffered serious injuries on an ATV trail in Two Rivers.

Mark Elzey, 48, was injured in an accident on the Mike Kelly Trail, about 10 miles north of Two Rivers, according to an Alaska State Troopers news release. Troopers were notified of the incident about 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Searchers from Alaska State Troopers, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Wilderness Search and Rescue and the Grangeville Helitak, Central Oregon Rappellers all joined in the search for the injured man. The fire crews are working on mopping up the Caribou Creek Fire, burning in a valley below the Mike Kelly Trail.

Elzey was transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
