Fairbanks climber remains unconscious after fall

FAIRBANKS — Fairbanks mountain climber Andy Sterns, who broke both legs in a fall on a mountain north of Nome on Friday, remained unconscious in an Anchorage hospital Wednesday.

Sterns, 46, underwent surgery on Sunday and is in the intensive care unit at Alaska Regional Hospital. He has been unconscious since the surgery.
