Earthquake near Tanana

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake occurred Friday afternoon, Sept. 6, 2019, near Tanana and Lake Minchumina today.

The quake occurred at 3:32 p.m., was located 41 miles south of Tanana and originated at a depth of between 6½ and 7 miles, according to the Alaska Earthquake Center at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

As of 5 p.m., there have been seven more earthquakes, all below magnitude 2.0, since the magnitude 4.6 quake.
