FAIRBANKS — Starting sometime this summer or fall, hunters will be able to sign up for permits to kill injured or nuisance moose around Fairbanks.
The Alaska Board of Game on Thursday approved a proposal by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game to create “targeted moose hunts” in game management units 20A and 20B on the road system surrounding Fairbanks. The hunts will allow hunters to kill moose that are injured, aggressive or posing a safety hazard along roads instead of having department personnel deal with them.
