HEALY — Blueberry ice cream. Blueberry popcorn. Blueberry cotton candy. Welcome to the Denali Blueberry Festival.

Again held at Otto Lake this year, the event was attended by families and community members, happy to be outside and under blue sky after a long week of heavy rains. The annual festival, sponsored by the Denali Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center featured face painting for kids, fun games and prizes. The Coal Queens offered tasty baked goods, raising money for the team.

Everyone enjoyed hamburgers and hot dogs, live music and the beer garden.

Once again, Alaska Dream Adventures from Fairbanks participated by offering beginners a chance to try their hand at epic kayak Ultimate Frisbee on Otto Lake.
