JUNEAU, Alaska - Democrat Scott McAdams says he hopes that either he or U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski will win the Alaska Senate race.

Murkowski is expected to announce Friday whether to mount a write-in candidacy. If she does, McAdams says he hopes one of them defeats Republican Joe Miller.

Miller upset Murkowski, Alaska's senior senator, in last month's GOP primary. The race turned nasty at the end, with a barrage of ads against Murkowski that she said mischaracterized her position on the federal health care overhaul.

McAdams says Alaskans "expect and deserve" a civil campaign.
