Chase ends in man's arrest on outstanding warrants

JUNEAU, Alaska - A 26-year-old man wanted on outstanding warrants is under arrest after he was chased down by Juneau police inside a local Wal-Mart store.

KINY ( ) says an off-duty police officer saw Justin Brokken in the store about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to police, when on-duty officers arrived, Brokken ran toward the back of the building and police ran after him.

Police subdued Brokken with a stun gun and assistance from of Wal-Mart workers.

Police say the outstanding arrest warrants charged Brokken with a parole violation after his conviction for controlled-substance misconduct and escape after he walked away from a local halfway house in January.

Brokken, who is in custody at the Lemon Creek Correctional Center, also is charged with escape in connection with the Wal-Mart chase.
