High school sports games postponed

Stumble It!FAIRBANKS — The North Pole at Lathrop high school basketball games that were scheduled for tonight have been postponed because of cold temperatures.
The Mid Alaska Conference games have been rescheduled for Feb. 10.
Also, girls hockey games between Dimond/West of Anchorage and the Arctic Bears of Fairbanks scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Patty Center have been canceled. Those games will not be made up.
All other high school athletic activities scheduled for this week are still on. Decisions on those contests will be made on a day-by-day basis due to the extreme weather conditions in the Interior.

Being that I live in the South, Texas, we don't get or see much snow or ice. But, if there is any chance of someone getting hurt in route to game of any sport then I believe that if I were in a decision making position I would be inclined to cancel all games until weather permitted safe travel.
