Alaska candidates forum to air on TV
Published Monday, October 6, 2008
AARP announced last week that a Fairbanks-based television station will air a forum Sunday between candidates for two of Alaska’s three seats in Congress.
The forum will be taped with a live audience in Anchorage and will be shown on KTVF, channel 11, in Fairbanks from 10-11:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the association.
Democrat Mark Begich and Republican Sen. Ted Stevens will not debate each other but will instead be interviewed separately by former news director John Tracy, according to the association.
House candidates Democrat Ethan Berkowitz and Republican Rep. Don Young will engage in a debate.
Organizers said the forum is aimed to help voters make an informed decision on national election day, Nov. 7.
“The taped interview with the Senate candidates is somewhat unconventional,” AARP Alaska director Ken Osterkamp said in a news release, “but we are pleased that in the end we were able to meet our goal to get the candidates’ views out to as many Alaskans as possible.”

Once again the media is deciding who we should vote for. We can only hear from the twin party candidates. The third party candidates are again censored.
Yea, Ive about had enough of that. Screw that show, my TV is dying in Feb anyway, and I have no plans to go digital. TV isnt worth the time it takes to watch anymore, and I cant stand people trying to brainwash me.
