Cyndie Beale of West Valley High School and Sue Buckley of Randy Smith Middle School are among 99 educators honored with the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.

Each educator receives a $10,000 educational grant to be used over a three-year period. Two teachers are chosen in each state and the District of Columbia, with the competition alternating every year between elementary and secondary teachers. The awards are administered by the National Science Foundation.
