Public Safety Report — May 8

The Public Safety Report is compiled from criminal complaints filed in state and federal courts, as well as some police blotter information, trooper dispatches, fire department reports and interviews with public safety officials. Individuals named as arrested and/or charged with crimes in this report are presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

Assault

• Ryan J. Huber, 24, of Fairbanks, was charged with fourth-degree assault after he allegedly grabbed his wife and would not allow her to leave their home Monday. The woman told Alaska State Troopers that he also took the phone from her when she tried to call 911. Huber also was charged with interfering with the report of a crime involving domestic violence.

• Kaleigh Amber Kueatschman, 21, of Fairbanks, was charged with fourth-degree assault after her boyfriend said she hit him in the head with a broom. The incident occurred in the early morning of March 13.

Drugs

• Alaska Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Enforcement agents looking for one man stumbled onto 19 marijuana plants in February.

The agents stopped for directions at the home of Monica Butterfield, 40, of Fairbanks, but noticed a suspicious trailer on her property. On closer inspection, they discovered the drugs, according to a criminal complaint filed in court.

Butterfield has been charged with fifth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance.

• The Alaska Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Enforcement confiscated 18 marijuana plants after receiving an anonymous tip in January.

Michael D. White, 29, of Fairbanks, has been charged with fifth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance in connection with the case. He allegedly told authorities he had been growing the plants since June of last year.
