Healing lecture

John Adams, a full-time prayer-based healer using the Christian Science system of healing, will present a talk titled “Does Christian Science really heal sickness and sin?” on Tuesday at the Noel Wien Public Library auditorium.

Adams has been a full-time practitioner of Christian Science healing since 1985, after overcoming a drug habit through his study of science and health. He is from New York City where he previously studied acting, owned a chain of flower shops and raised his family.

Alaska New Life Outreach

Assembly of God

Assembly of God Central Mission Church, 3558 Goldizen Ave., hosts English service Sunday from 10-11 a.m.; and Korean service from 11 a.m.-noon. Korean language school is held Saturdays 10 a.m.-noon.  There will be a pancake breakfast fundraiser May through June every Wednesday-Saturday, 7-9 a.m. Breakfast is $5 or you can buy a punch card of 10 breakfasts for $50 and receive one free breakfast. The proceeds will support youth group summer activities.

Baha’is of Nenana

The Baha’is of Nenana will host a celebration of the holy day, the 12th Day of Ridvan, today, at Mile 311.8 Parks Highway, starting at 2 p.m. with lunch, prayers, stories and games.

Bible Baptist

A special healing Mass for the sick and the elderly will take place this Saturday. Recitation of the rosary and administration of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and of the Sick begins at 11 a.m. with Mass starting at 11:30 a.m., followed by a light reception.

Zion Lutheran Church, 2982 Davis Road, hosts a Saturday Nite Alive contemporary service at 5 p.m.; traditional worship at 8:30 a.m.; contemporary worship at 11 a.m. Holy Communion is celebrated at all services, and nursery is available.

Pastor Baumgarten’s message is “Chosen” based on Acts 1:12-26 and John 17:1-11.
