ANCHORAGE -- A 61-year-old Eagle River man has died in a three-vehicle crash on the Seward Highway near Cooper Landing.
Alaska State Troopers say Donald Setters was not wearing a seat belt and died at the crash scene near mile 43 of the highway.
According to troopers, Setters was heading north in a Jeep Cherokee Thursday night when he crossed onto the southbound roadway for an unknown reason.
Troopers say the Jeep crashed into a southbound Ford Aerostar van driven by 26-year-old JoeAnna Hoogland of Chugiak.
The van veered into a ditch and rolled over to its side, trapping Hoogland. The jeep spun sideways and was hit by a Dodge Ram driven by 21-year-old Paul Popovich of Anchorage.
Troopers say the occupants of the other vehicles were taken to hospitals with varying degrees of injuries.
The investigation of the crash continues.
