FAIRBANKS -- The body of a man was found in a house that burned in Fort Yukon early Wednesday morning.
The Fort Yukon Fire Department responded to the house fire at 3:12 a.m. and found one man dead at the scene.
The man has yet to be positively identified.
His body was taken to Anchorage for an autopsy and further investigation.
He was the only person inside the home when the fire department arrived but it is unknown if there were other people occupying the home.
Fairbanks Deputy Fire Marshal Ernie Misewisz is assisting the Fort Yukon Fire Department in the investigation.
Investigators have not officially determined the cause of the fire but say it was likely the result of faulty electrical wiring inside the 700 square-foot two-bedroom wooden house. The owner of the 30-year-old house has not been determined.
Though four walls remain standing, the house was considered a total loss by Fort Yukon police and fire departments.
