KODIAK, Alaska - Officials say nearly $6,000 has been stolen from the city offices in Larsen Bay.

KMXT reports (http://is.gd/y9jbLQ) Alaska State Troopers are investigating the theft, which was reported to them by a city official on Oct. 5 and announced Monday.

Troopers say it appears the theft happened sometime between Aug. 30 and Oct. 1.

Larsen Bay, which has about 90 residents, is located approximately 60 miles southwest of Kodiak City on the west side of Kodiak Island.
