FAIRBANKS—Alaska Nanooks hockey fans can get their first look at the 2012-13 team in the Blue-Gold Game in the Patty Center at 7:05 tonight.

The contest is a fund-raiser for the Face-Off Club, the booster organization for Nanooks hockey. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for students.

The game will be played in 30-minute halves and intermission features a skills competition with fastest skater, hardest shot and shootout events.

A Skate with the Nanooks and a free hot dog and cookie takes place after the game.

Before the Blue-Gold Game, the inaugural Nanooks Hockey Fan Fest will be conducted from 4-7 p.m. in the Patty Center lobby. Admission is free and fans will have the opportunity to meet Nanooks players and coaches.

There will be activities, food and prizes for those in attendance and radio disc jockey VMAXX will be playing music throughout the Fan Fest.

Among the activities are a Kids Corner with several hockey activities, including Box Hockey and the Goalie Experience. There also is a chance for fans to test their skills on the AK Performance synthetic ice sheet.
