ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Two mushers have scratched from this year's Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.
Race officials say in releases Thursday that both Gwenn Bogart and Zoya DeNure scratched at the Tanana checkpoint. Both cited personal reasons for leaving the race.
Bogart is from Wasilla. She had 14 dogs in her team when she scratched Thursday morning.
DeNure, a former fashion model now living in Delta Junction, dropped two of her 16 dogs when she came in to the checkpoint Wednesday before scratching.
There are 75 mushers remaining in this year's race. The winner is expected early next week in Nome.
